Bringing Ideas to Life
A native San Franciscan, Angela was surrounded by the arts and music growing up. Every job she held, had a creative element to it, whether it was working a decade in the music industry, or her 15 year stint as a shoe designer and developer.

In 2004 Angela took a leap of faith, quit her job, and moved to Italy to attend shoemaking school. After graduating she continued to work in Italian shoe factories for four years, side by side with masters of the trade. She had found her passion.
During her 15 year career in footwear, some of her work has summited the world's highest peaks, while others strutted down the catwalks of London, Paris and New York. Her shoes have adorned the feet of Shakira, and one style was named one of Oprah’s “Favorite Things”.
In 2013 Angela gifted herself a leather working class for her birthday. Little did she know where that gift would lead her. While in her first class, she had a déjà-vu moment and was brought back to the shoe factory in Bologna, Italy. Tears welled up in her eyes. She had finally found a way to bring the factory back into her life! Angela continued to study handbag making and leather working for two years under the guidance of a master French craftswoman.
Angela strives to uphold the knowledge, techniques and traditions passed down to her from the masters craftsmen and women who taught her in Italy and America.

Since debuting her collection in 2016, Angela has presented her work in New York, Sausalito, Bellevue, Chicago, and at the American Craft Council events. In many ways she feels she has followed in the footsteps of her late aunt, Mary Maughelli, whose paintings, lithographs and mixed media work were displayed in art galleries in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
With 360º involvement in every piece, Angela builds each piece from start to finish. Every creation is designed, all patterns are made and all leathers are hand selected by her. Those same two hands cut, sew, assemble and hand finish every piece.
